Seminar: the Son & the Mother ~ a story of “never giving up”

Josh the Son On the 25th June 2000 at 3.30 pm, Josh’s, his Mother’s (Kay), Father’s (Garry), his family and close friends lives were changed forever, as a result of a near fatal injury Josh suffered, when he broke his neck and crushed his spinal cord in a Snow Board Jumping accident at Mount Buller. Josh was admitted to Melbourne’s Austin Hospital a complete quadriplegic. Destined to life in a wheel chair,(which wasn’t an option Josh wanted to accept), he and his Mother developed strategies, that allowed Josh to regain as much of his old life back that was physically possible.

Over the past 10 years, Josh has rebuilt his injured body to the extent that although he has difficulties doing physical work, predominantly because of his spinal cord damage, he has become a proficient and accomplished Speaker. Today, Josh rides motor bikes, snow boards, walks only with the aid of a walking stick, and drives an unmodified car. He also voluntarily coaches and mentors Spinal Cord injured patients. The amazing fact that few realise, when they meet Josh, is, that he only has 5% function of his spinal cord at the injured section. (C6, C7, T1) Josh’s talk is not about feeling sorry for himself, it’s about how he, his family / friends and a group of dedicated professionals rebuilt his life from, learning to move his little toe to where he is today. His story is both motivating and full of useful and achievable strategies that can be applied to life and business. A brief outline of Josh’s story, has been included in a chapter of the newly released USA Book “the Well Adjusted Soul”… Josh’s story was one of the highest rated in the book.
